MD310TS Emergency Dual Rudder Angle Telegraph System

The MD310TS Dual Rudder Angle Telegraph System is a crucial emergency solution that receives its power from a protected backup DC power supply. The MD310S system transmits angular steering commands from the wheelhouse to the steering crew stationed at a remote area within the vessel’s steering gear compartment. This ensures that the vessel can be navigated safely even when the main power fails.

Each of the two steering compartments houses an MD310S Single Head Unit, while an MD310T Twin Head Unit is positioned at the command station in the wheelhouse.

Steering commands are indicated in degrees using a moving pointer (commonly referred to as a bug) on the remote angular display unit located in the steering compartment. The steering crew can then manually adjust the rudders to the specified angle and confirm their actions by pressing the Alert button.
