Human Input Device for Marine Data Transmitting Heading Device (THD) System
The Human Input Device in a Marine Data Transmitting Heading Device (THD) system allows users to manually enter magnetic correction coefficients and variations while displaying the heading information.
OVERVIEW
Transmitting Heading Device (THD) systems are gaining traction as reliable backups or alternatives to traditional gyro compasses. Marine Data provides both Transmitting Magnetic Compass (TMC) and Electromagnetic Compass (EMC) options. The TMC mirrors the ship’s magnetic compass located in its binnacle, while the EMC independently detects the Earth’s magnetic field as a complete electromagnetic compass.
The user-friendly, menu-driven MD71THD Control and Display Unit facilitates straightforward calibration of the magnetic heading sensor and enables the manual input of variation and deviation corrections. This unit features a crystal-clear digital display of heading information within a compact design.
The MD71THD Control and Display Unit from Marine Data is versatile in application, easy to install, and simple to maintain.
