Product details
System Component: The Signal Processor included as part of the comprehensive Marine Data Transmitting Heading Device (THD) System.
OVERVIEW
The MD97CSP sensor processor is an electronic processing unit housed in a waterproof enclosure, featuring a socket connection for the sensor and internal screw terminals for linking the cable to the MD71THD Control & Display Unit within a Transmitting Heading Device (THD) System. Keep in mind that the MD97CSP does not operate independently.
This processor unit processes signals from either the MD52A/B (TMC) Sensor or the MD53A/B (EMC) Sensor, executing essential calculations for the basic calibration of the fluxgate sensor and providing a precise measurement of Magnetic Heading.
Transmitting Heading Device (THD) Systems are increasingly being utilized as both backup solutions and alternatives to traditional gyro compasses. Marine Data offers either a Transmitting Magnetic Compass (TMC) that mirrors the ship’s magnetic compass, or an Electromagnetic Compass (EMC) that independently detects the Earth’s magnetic field.
FEATURES- Signal Processor for the Marine Data Transmitting Heading Device (THD) System (supports both EMC & TMC).
- Conducts necessary calculations for calibrating the connected magnetic sensor.
- Utilizes proprietary algorithms to calibrate the MD52A/B with the ship’s Magnetic Compass, providing deviation correction for the MD53A/B.
- Incorporates Magnetic Variation into the Magnetic Heading to compute True Heading.
- Deviation and variation parameters are securely stored in non-volatile memory.
- Facilitates data and control signals transmission between the MD97CSP and MD71THD through an industry-standard CAN Bus using proprietary protocols.
- Built with rugged marinised construction for enhanced durability.
APPLICATIONS- Connects directly with the MD71THD Control and Display Unit (mandatory) within a Marine Data Transmitting Heading Device (THD) System.
The MD97CSP sensor processor is essential for ensuring accurate magnetic heading measurements and plays a vital role within the THD System, enhancing navigational reliability on marine vessels.
